Today we delivered the first of our beautiful, scented bouquets for June. British summer flowers are my absolute favourite, it is no secret that I love them even more than the delicious cheery spring varieties that brighten up our lives in the early months of the year. There is just something about meandering up and down the rows of the flower patch, and in the stifling heat of the poly tunnel with all the sweet fragrances and bright colours that makes me happier than almost anything else in the world. Of course, I am typing this on a balmy June evening, having spent a very sunny day in the workshop and field, cutting and preparing the flowers for this coming weekends weddings, I might not sound quite so enthusiastic if it had been bucketing with rain all day!

It occurred to me that our homegrown bouquets contain so many varieties of flowers, sometimes a few of each, others just a single statement bloom, I decided to count them……..I lost count at 21 different varieties of stunning homegrown flowers and foliage, all lovingly grown from seed in rural West Lancashire, and delivered a few miles down the road to a neighbouring village, travelling approximately 5 miles from seed to vase. This is something that we are very proud of at The Flower Farm.
